Clean Air

GreenLaw helped halt a coal-fired power plant that would have emitted 9 million tons of Carbon Dioxide - the same emissions as 1.5 million cars driving 12,000 miles each year.

Clean Water

GreenLaw prevented almost one ton of plastic from being dumped into the Oconee River each year by a newsprint recycling company in Dublin.

Environmental Justice

GreenLaw’s actions stopped a grain mill from emitting illegal and dangerous particles that covered a disadvantaged African-American community for decades.

The Citizen’s Guide to Fighting Water Pollution in Georgia is designed to help citizens like you understand permitting, monitoring and management processes under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and help achieve the Clean Water Act’s fundamental goal of protecting our water resources.

Run-off from construction sites is choking our waterways as soil particles enter Georgia’s river, lakes and tributaries during each rain event. Our Georgia Construction Stormwater Project, called Get the Dirt Out, monitors implementation of the law about construction run-off.
